Experience Reiki
Reiki is a gentle healing energy technique that brings deep relaxation. In a calm state Reiki energy can flow to the areas where it is most needed, supporting the mind, body, and spirit in returning to harmony. When global events, social media and entertainment, and day-to-day interactions impact your personal energy, Reiki can provide a reprieve that clears your field and brings you back to a grounded and centered state. Reiki is particularly beneficial for creatives (e.g. artists, designers, musicians, singers, and performers), space-holders (e.g. therapists, social workers, healers, educators, hair and nail stylists, volunteers, and service professionals) and those who are highly sensitive to the energies and emotions of others.
I am an Usui Reiki Master Teacher practicing in the lineage of Mikao Usui. I was attuned by the Reiki Godmothers Manu Del Prete and Aki Quetzalyolotzin Jewel Moon Medicine Woman.
Usui Reiki Sessions
Similar to traditions like the laying of hands, Reiki is typically practiced by the practitioner placing their hands along the body’s key energy centers with clear intention. Reiki can also be performed by hovering the hands over the body, or by sending energy at a distance. I may use additional tools like tuning forks or sound bowls during your session.
You may experience a wide range of sensations and benefits from Reiki. During a session clients may enter a dream-like state, see colors or hear sounds, receive visions, or experience nothing at all. All of these experiences are normal.
My clients have reported increased creativity, relief from emotional distress, a reduction of physical pain and inflammation, better sleep, and more consistent energy levels as a result of Reiki treatment. These are their subjective experiences.
Please be advised, Reiki is not a medical treatment and Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe or perform medical treatment, prescribe substances or medication, or interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Your health and safety are my top priority and I am happy to work in tandem with different healing modalities (ex. acupuncture or herbalism). I will suggest medical and/or psychological treatment if I feel your needs exceed the scope of what Reiki can achieve on its own.

Reiki FAQs
-
It can be great to enter your Reiki session with a general intention, such as grounding, clearing, or energizing. Every Reiki experience is different, so please bring an open mind and any questions you may have. Most importantly - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate before and after your treatment!
-
We begin with a brief check-in and review your intake form. During a typical session you will be lying face-up on a massage table with soft, dim lighting and meditation music playing in the background. Reiki treatment begins at the top of the head and moves down the body ending at the feet for grounding. We may also use sound bowls, crystals, tuning forks, or essential oils. The session ends with a closing check-in and debrief of your experience. These elements can be adjusted for your individual preferences and needs.

Yes Reiki is safe for the vast majority of people. I sometimes use tools like sound bowls, tuning forks, or essential oils during sessions, so please be sure to share any allergies or relevant medical conditions in your intake form. I would not recommend Reiki for someone in state where heightened sensitivity may be damaging or aggravating, such as active psychosis.
-
Reiki is touch-optional and a treatment can be performed by hovering hands over the body. Before every session we discuss your comfort level with physical touch and adjust accordingly. Touch consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any point in your session.
-
After a Reiki session clients can experience emotional and physical energies moving through the body. Most people report feeling more emotionally sensitive for 1-2 days after their session, followed by a feeling of lightness on the third day. I strongly recommend that you avoid inflammatory, frightening, or violent content for 12-24 hours after your reiki treatment when you’re most energetically open.

I recommend your Reiki schedule based on your personal goals.
Three weekly treatments typically bring about a noticeable shift. For clients ready to move through a specific intention or challenge I recommend at least six weekly treatments (a 40-day period). I shifted a major dynamic in my own life following this plan.
A focused period of Reiki can be followed by weekly or monthly sessions for continued restoration, or by booking sessions as-needed.

Every Reiki experience is different as no two energy fields or moments in time are the same. Feel free to review the most frequent experiences to get a sense of what to expect, but be sure to keep an open mind and heart.

Reiki Masters use a specific technique to send distant Reiki. This is a method of energetic connection that can be just as or more effective than an in-person treatment.

During a group Reiki session, participants usually lie on yoga mats with blankets and pillows to receive a collective Reiki experience around an astrological transit and/or shared intention.
Reiki Masters use a technique to create an environment that treats the full group, in addition to sending each individual more concentrated bursts.
